ANGEL WITCH (1980–PRESENT). Kevin Heybourne (vocals/guitar), Grant Dennison (guitar, 1989), Kevin “Skids” Riddles (bass, replaced in 1989 by Peter Gordelier), Dave Hogg (drums, replaced in 1989 by Spencer Holman).
Angel Witch were a minor but entertaining band from the New Wave of British heavy metal. The band was formed initially in 1977, but finally gelled as a lineup in 1980, led by Heybourne. Through the years numerous members have come and gone, leaving Heybourne the one constant. “Baphomet” is their one killer song from the band’s self-titled debut, but it would not be a bad idea to pick up one of the many compilations available on various record labels.
