ANGEL WITCH

Angel Witch were a minor but entertaining band from the New Wave of British heavy metal. The band was formed initially in 1977, but finally gelled as a lineup in 1980, led by Heybourne. Through the years numerous members have come and gone, leaving Heybourne the one constant. “Baphomet” is their one killer song from the band’s self-titled debut, but it would not be a bad idea to pick up one of the many compilations available on various record labels.

Discography: Angel Witch (Bronze, 1980); Screamin’ & Bleedin (Killerwatt, 1985); Frontal Assault (N/A, 1986); Live (Capitol, 1990); Resurrection (Crook’d, 2000); 2000: Live at LA2 (Zoom Club/Windsor, 2001); 82 Revisited (Thunderbolt, 2002); Death Angel: Live at East Anglia Rock Festival (Mausoleum, 2006).
