SACRED REICH

Sacred Reich was a thrash metal band with punk leanings that played primarily during the mid-eighties and released the classic Surf Nicaragua record among others, before calling it quits in 1999. Much like the Crumbsuckers, DRI, and Corrosion of Conformity, Sacred Reich helped pioneer the punk/ metal crossover style that helped metal evolve and grow even harder and were one of the more politically active of the crossover bands, as epitomized on the anti-Republican Surf Nicaragua record. The band reunited for several shows in 2007, but it is unclear if the tour will continue or will lead to any new music.

Discography: Ignorance (Hollywood, 1987); Surf Nicaragua (Hollywood, 1988); American Way (Hollywood, 1990); A Question (Hollywood, 1991); Independent (Hollywood, 1991); Heal (Metal Blade, 1996); Still Ignorant Live (Metal Blade, 1997).
